[ It makes sense to him? He looks a little confused that Emerald's confused.

Once they reach Akashi's apartment, he opens the door and gestures for her to come in first. The walls are white and so is the floor and the rest of the furniture. Yukimaru is somewhere... he's also white and small. ]

[unhappy]

Is that what you call your school secretary? Why are you assuming I'm your secretary in this scenario?

[ She pauses. ] Seijuro, do you have some kind of... want... to be with your secretary?

[ She's trying not to embarrass him about it as much as she can. She sees Yukimaru and her face just lights up. He's so. Small???????????????? She doesn't know what to say without completely invalidating this conversation. ]

[glorifies]

No, I don't. I just thought that— [ That's what most people call... secretaries............ in other places..................... Perhaps he was mistaken. ] Let's just move on.

[unhappy]

Fine. I won't call you President Seijuro.

[ She falls quiet for a moment, instead going over to greet... tiny Yukimaru... this is legitimately the cutest thing she's ever seen and she usually doesn't get all gooey over animals but she likes Yukimaru and he's.. ]

What happened to him?

[glorifies]

It's very troubling.

[ He reaches down to pat Yukimaru, running a hand through the horse's mane and then checking his face for anything weird, and then his teeth. Yukimaru doesn't usually live indoors, after all... who knows what it could have bitten while inside. ]

I don't know why he's become small since arriving. I need to fix it.

[unhappy]

Maybe it's good until you can save up money for a stable, it's not like these apartments come built with one.

[ She stands up straight, looking over at Akashi thoughtfully. Speaking of.. money... ]

Can you turn around for a second?

[glorifies]

He must not like it, being so small. I fear it may affect his health if it continues this way.

[ What if his horse gets anxiety... He's not sure if there are any good veterinarians around. . . ]

Is something on my back? [ He turns around then, but he tries to look behind him to see if there's anything of notice. ]

[ She comes up and puts her hands on his bum. One hand on either cheek. ]

If there's something wrong with an animal, you take them to see a doctor. Which costs money, so no complaints.

[ She's going to rub his butt a couple of times now, then squeeze, and let go before he yells at her. ]

[glorifies]

[ He'd never yell at her, but this is also embarrassing. He's pretty tense the moment she touches him, and only calms down a little once she's let go. ]

You should have given a warning.

[unhappy]

Fine. I will. But I also haven't been able to touch you in months so excuse me for wanting every excuse.

[ She goes to head over to the couch now to plop down. She's wondering if she's changed any since she isn't quite.. as obedient as she once was. She's doing what she wants and it seems like she's embarrassing him at every turn and it's frustrating. But she also knows she's just more easily frustrated than she was before and that's not his fault. ]

[glorifies]

[ He watches her as she moves to sit, and for a moment, he just stays where he is. It feels like he's done something wrong. ]

I hadn't considered that. I'm sorry, Emerald.

[ Not that Emerald needs an excuse to touch him, but doing it out of the blue surprised him, that's all. It wasn't unwelcome.

He joins her on the couch. If she lets him, he'll place an arm around her shoulder and pull her close to him so she can rest on his shoulder. ]

[unhappy]

[ She lets him, but it takes her a second or two before she leans into it. ]

It's not your fault. I'm happy to see you and it's awkward to have this suddenly meaning something different here, I just get..

[ She takes a short breath, a sigh. ]

If I act out of line just tell me I'm doing it and give me a few seconds.

[ She doesn't think she'll react as hair trigger angry as she was back home, but it's obvious she's still getting emotional about things. ]

Will you stay here with me tonight?

[ If it's been months for her, then he has a lot of catching up to do. He doesn't intend to make it up to her by touching her the same way she did him, but he wants to spend time with her. Not to mention, being here is a reminder that not only are they together, but that they were almost separated. Akashi doesn't want to lose her again. ]

We can do whatever you'd like to do. Just be with me.

[unhappy]

Yeah. I don't know what I want to do though.

[ She just wants to be there. She can just sit here next to him for hours lost in thought and it'd still be an improvement. ]

I really do want to help Yukimaru though, I wasn't just being rude about that. That's hilarious, which means he should probably get help.

[glorifies]

Ah. I don't think I've played the violin for you. You mentioned wanting to hear me play before.

[ Maybe some music would help her calm down some, too. ]

As for Yukimaru, I do intend on seeking assistance. I had prioritised finding a place to stay in first. I thought waiting it out would also work, but it seems a day of being here hasn't helped any.

[unhappy]

[ She looks a little surprised at that offer. She would've thought he'd be super out of practice, since she doesn't remember him playing in Verens. It kind of makes her happy if that's true, if he wants to let her listen anyway.

Or maybe he's just that confident that he won't make a mistake without practicing. She doesn't know. ]

You can play for me if you want.

[ She nods about Yukimaru. She doesn't know anything about horses so it's not like she can offer more than her help, if he wants any of it. he knows now at least. ]

[glorifies]

Give me a moment, then. I want to stay like this a little longer.

[ Akashi's not as clingy, but... he wants to be near Emerald, too. It's not like they're going to be separated if Akashi gets his violin, but that means he won't be able to hold her for a little while.

This is fine for now. ]

[ Emerald looks at him for a moment, then starts scooting down on the couch. She puts her feet up over the edge, but only so she can rest her head on his lap. ]

If that's an option, I'm just going to stay here.

[glorifies]

[ He'll let her do as he pleases, and once she's resting on his lap, he strokes her hair gently to get her to relax even more.

His voice is not shrill enough for folk songs, but he softly sings the lyrics to a folk song, anyway. He's doesn't mean to put her to sleep, but it seems like a good moment to sing to her and make it known that he's here with her. ]

[ It doesn't put her to sleep. She's not the kind of person who's ever really been sung to, so the way she watches him as he hums it is with interest rather than allowing it to fall into the background and let herself relax. It's bizarre, but she finds herself liking it. She also finds herself a little lost when she feels like there's something missing.

She had never met Akashi before Empatheias. Him without his actual warmth and lights and comforting magic is weird. It's still him, but it's an adjustment. Emerald ends up turning to her side so she can rest her forehead against his stomach. ]

[glorifies]

Are you alright?

[ He's fine, but it seems something's wrong. ]

I thought it might help calm you down some.

[unhappy]

I know. It felt like it was one of those moments your lights would come up or the room would get warm or everything would calm down.

[ But it didn't, and that was weird. it's going to take getting used to, because in her mind, that's always been something she's connected with him. ]

[glorifies]

I'll have to figure out a different way to elicit that effect.

[ They don't have emotion magic here now, after all. ]

I'll get my violin. [ He'd get up, but... he's on her, so he'll wait. ]

[unhappy]

[ Good luck getting your violin. As if in response, both of Emerald's arms wrap around his waist. No leaving. ]

[ She's not making this easy... But he won't fight it. This isn't bad, anyway.

He does slouch a little, though. ]
