[ Akashi nods silently. He didn't even know he needed to release some stress that way, but he's glad he did. He's glad she blew him??? Yeah... ]

I should wash my hands.

[ And she should brush her teeth. Getting up seems like an ordeal though. ]

Yeah, I need some mouth wash too.

[ She already brushed her teeth, so she doesn't think she needs to again, but definitely mouthwash at least.. She's definitely more awake than before now though, so she's fine with standing up and holding out both hands to tug him up with her. ]

You can go first, then.

[ They can go together but... that might be weird? He's not sure. ]

We're in a rush, come on.

[ She's just gonna tug him. They're not doing anything weird?? He's just washing his hands and she's swishing. ]

[ Well, okay, if she says so! He'll go with her to the bathroom and thoroughly wash his hands. Like a minute and 15 seconds kind of handwashing. You'd think Akashi is a germophobe...

But he just doesn't want his scent on him??? Gross. ]

[ Yeah she's swishing for like 30 seconds as per the directions and then she just watches Akashi. And ends up with the following words coming out of her mouth: ]

Are you ok?

[ This is way too long to wash your hands.. ]

I am. What's wrong?

[ You have to be very thorough, okay!! Plus, this is normal handwashing technique. It also feels nice to massage your hands. ]

You're going to dry out your hands. You're only supposed to wash for like 25 seconds.

[ Not like a minute and a half?? That's way too long. ]

I'm just making sure my hands are clean.

[ But he's done now... Don't get impatient with him, Em :( ]

I'll use hand cream afterwards.

[ She's not impatient so much as concerned by how much he's washing his hands!! That will seriously crack your skin if you do that all the time. ]

Hurry up then. I've worked up an appetite.

[ Okay now she's being impatient. She wants real food. ]

Right, right.

[ Besides, he's excited, too! The breakfast menu for today is a surprise for her. ]

Let's go, then. Make sure you bring a coat in case it gets cold out.

[ SHE'S HEADING FOR THE DOOR, COME ALONG. akashi can warm her up if she gets cold. ]

[ AKASHI CAN ONLY PROVIDE SO MUCH HEAT!!! Why is this girl so resistant to doing what's right!! As much as he wants to raid Emerald's closet for a jacket or at least a scarf, he does not. He just shakes his head and walks out the door, take her hand, and get going.

The cafe isn't very high-end. It's a simple one that they go to, where you have to sit on the floor and the tables are low. It's very Japanese-y, in some ways, but the interior isn't all that traditional. Their booth has a lot of throw pillows, making the experience softer and all. Akashi likes it!

There's no food menu given to them, but they are given a drink menu. Various types of coffee, tea, and other cocoa-related drinks can be ordered. Akashi merely nods at the server and tells her that they can serve them their breakfast now. As for what Akashi ordered? It's a plateful of crabcakes and a plate of mini-waffles. A platter of sliced fresh fruit is also served, as well as a small bottle of honey. Akashi looks plenty pleased. ]

You put the crabcakes between waffles and eat it like a burger. It's clever, isn't it?

[ Emerald asks for a hot cocoa and an ice water for her drink, looking on in fascination as the food is served. What an odd combination. She's not really sure how well sweet goes with crab but she guesses she'll find out.

Worst case scenario she can just eat them one at a time, and that's not even a bad situation. ]

It's something, anyway. Let's try it.

[ Emerald definitely has gathered most of the throw pillows around them so she can lean against Akashi and be as much of a hindrance to normal eating as possible, but she leans forward to grab hers like a burger and takes a bite, then hold it out to him as she chews. ]

Is it good?

[ But Akashi would prefer Emerald not respond until after chewing. He doesn't take a bite out of what she's offering him yet, either. ]

I thought it was similar to the one in Empatheias.

[ Okay, now he takes a bite. He thought he'd surprise her with crabcakes!! ]

[ She nods. ]

It's not exactly the same, but it's really good.

[ Part of why she liked the ones in Empatheias a lot was because of the atmosphere of the place. This is definitely different, but it's warmer. Less familiar like the little water-side diner at Port Niras, more like something she wants to head toward. A warm, familiar place with someone she loves. ]

I can tie this for top spot.

I feel like that's still second place, even if it's a tie.

[ Ah... the part of him that always wants to be number one hurts a little. ]

It's not a competition.

[ She goes to pinch him!! But stops and just gently pokes him. She knows he doesn't like pinching. ]

Any place I eat is number one if it's with you, and if you tell anyone I said that I will pinch you.

[ He doesn't like pinching :( ]

... Please don't pinch me. [ She might do it anyways, so fsdalkgh HAVE TO TELL HER.. ] I'll keep it a secret.

I just said I wouldn't.

[ Okay no she said she would but only under special circumstances! She smiles at him. ]

[ It's scary, ok... And he is a wuss. ]

I've moved on to gentle poking.

[ She prods him again to make her point. ]

Don't.

[ fadskgl it might just be gentle poking, but Akashi purposely moves away so she doesn't poke him. Look!! He trusts her!! Just not with this!! He doesn't like being poked or being pinched, okay. :( ]

Tickling then.

[ She's coming for his sides with tickling hands now! ]

[glorifies]

[ He shoves a slice of crabcakes and waffles into her mouth. Maybe this will serve as a distraction. ]

Eat.
