There's not a lot left, though. We may have to go to the grocery if we want to experiment.

[ That's what he thinks they're going to do, anyway. ]

I was saving the tofu I have for this honey garlic sauce I found...

We have to go to the store for chocolate to melt anyway, we can pick some up.

[ Store trip! She's excited, they haven't done one of those in a while. ]

[ He goes to check the time. It's not even 7am yet. ]

The grocery opens at 9. What do you suggest we do while we wait?

What do you normally do this early?

[ Like she knows. She sleeps this early. Nothing is open. ]

I prepare the cafe. I took a leave today, though.

[ He is the manager, after all. He's normally the first one there and the last one to leave. ]

Do you have any stale bread? We can feed ducks at the park like grandmas.

[ But only with stale bread. She's not about to give fresh bread to animals. ]

[ Emerald, excuse me... ]

Feeding birds is very therapeutic.

[ He's hurt??? Don't diss him like that. ]

[ She's saying she wants to do it?? She wants to be grandmas with him. ]

I want to try it.

Please don't call me a grandma again.

[ But yes, they can do that!! ]

I'm not sure what makes a bread stale, though. . . The ones I have were just bought yesterday.

I called both of us grandmas, but okay.

[ She briefly wonders if he thinks that she'll ever run out of ways to tease him if he keeps putting moratoriums on specific teases. ]

Stale is like, dried and not fresh. Have you never had stale bread before?

[ Akashi, what a blessed life you've lived.. ]

[ ... He hesitates to answer. It might become awkward. ]

Let's just buy bread from the convenience store. We can get some for Yukimaru, too. I should visit him this morning, anyway.

Yukimaru eats bread?

[ Oh. They're visiting Yukimaru!! It's been a while since she's seen him. She doesn't like the idea of using fresh bread on ducks though. Real people.. need that food.. ]

If we have to buy fresh bread we should just skip, we can go sometime when I've got stale leftovers. Let's just visit Yukimaru.

He eats bread, but he's also fond of vegetables.

[ Yukimaru likes carrots and lettuce, especially!! ]

Alright. I hope he's clean, too. We can go around the city with Yukimaru to exercise.

[unhappy]

We can clean him if he's not. How hard can cleaning a horse be? [ Just hose him down like a car and brush his mane, probably.. right... ] If we stop by my place on the way, I have peppermint oat treats for him. Ren's dog had one when they came over, but they're specially for horses.

[ She guesses she'll... finally get up. Since they're done eating and have a plan now. ]

Yukimaru is big. He might kick you if you don't know how to handle him properly, either. I do have a caretaker for him, at least, though I'm not sure how often Yukimaru is bathed.

[ Akashi has a laundry service and a pet caretaker. Living the life. ]

I guess we can do that. He's never had such a treat before.

[ She isn't even going to bother teasing him about being a rich boy. Having a horse by default means he doesn't have to do his own chores, it seems excessive. ]

Apparently horses really like mint, according to the store I got it from. We'll see.

[ Now that she's up, she holds both hands out to Akashi to pull him up too. Time to go! ]

[ Up he goes, too! ]

Did you enjoy your breakfast?

[unhappy]

[ She nods and kisses the tip of his nose once he's up, then starts heading toward the door. ]

Yeah. I haven't had a breakfast like that before, and the pillows were great.

[glorifies]

I had a feeling you would like the pillows, too.

[ He's glad he brought her here.

Akashi gifts a rather large tip to the cafe before exiting. They served them well, and he thinks Emerald is plenty happy despite the crazy time of day that they went. Now, it's off to the outskirts of Lunatia, because that's where he's keeping Yukimaru! ]

If there's one thing that can make any place feel less crappy it's pillows.

[ A beat. ] This place isn't crappy, so it's extra good.

[ Before he conflates this isn't her thinking it was crappy, she wants to specify that. She thanks the staff on their way out and follows Akashi wherever he wants to go. ]

[glorifies]

[ She already said she was happy, so he doesn't press on any further or think too much about it. He's just glad to be able to celebrate their first Valentine's together.

He'll also have to surprise Mayuzumi later, but the gift Akashi has given him (the gift of sleep this early morning) should suffice while he and Emerald are together.

They take one of the teleporters to the outskirts of the city. It's quicker to get to Yukimaru that way!

Akashi is renting a space in a farm. The farmer he's paying seems to be very amused to see a horse like Yukimaru—he's an Earth Horse, after all! Somehow, the horses in Prismatica are a little different, although Akashi hasn't inquired too much about it. ]

Ah, we're in luck. Yukimaru is clean. [ And is sneezing right at them as soon as Akashi is in view. What a friendly welcome... ]

Hi Yukimaru~ Don't worry, I would hang out with you even if you weren't clean. I'm not picky.

[ She gives the horse a little wave then comes over to let Yukimaru smell her and so on. The standard greeting to make sure Yukimaru isn't alarmed!! ]
