[ But Akashi would prefer Emerald not respond until after chewing. He doesn't take a bite out of what she's offering him yet, either. ]

I thought it was similar to the one in Empatheias.

[ Okay, now he takes a bite. He thought he'd surprise her with crabcakes!! ]

It's not exactly the same, but it's really good.

[ Part of why she liked the ones in Empatheias a lot was because of the atmosphere of the place. This is definitely different, but it's warmer. Less familiar like the little water-side diner at Port Niras, more like something she wants to head toward. A warm, familiar place with someone she loves. ]

I can tie this for top spot.

I feel like that's still second place, even if it's a tie.

[ Ah... the part of him that always wants to be number one hurts a little. ]

It's not a competition.

[ She goes to pinch him!! But stops and just gently pokes him. She knows he doesn't like pinching. ]

Any place I eat is number one if it's with you, and if you tell anyone I said that I will pinch you.

[ Okay no she said she would but only under special circumstances! She smiles at him. ]

[ It's scary, ok... And he is a wuss. ]

I've moved on to gentle poking.

[ She prods him again to make her point. ]

[ fadskgl it might just be gentle poking, but Akashi purposely moves away so she doesn't poke him. Look!! He trusts her!! Just not with this!! He doesn't like being poked or being pinched, okay. :( ]

Tickling then.

[ She's coming for his sides with tickling hands now! ]

[ He shoves a slice of crabcakes and waffles into her mouth. Maybe this will serve as a distraction. ]

[ She makes a grumbly noise but stops to chew so she doesn't choke. She's lowering her eyelids for a moment, then rolling her eyes at him as she backs off. ]

(This is what happens when your boyfriend has a stick up his ass. And likes sticks up his ass??? ]

Should we go back to my apartment after breakfast? I want to see what you got for me.

[ She swallows before she answers and lies down againts some of the pillows instead of against Akashi now. ]

Sure. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to get you, but I didn't get chocolate because you wouldn't eat it.

[ That sounded like he would worry about eating healthily for a week if he had one piece of chocolate, and that sounds more miserable than the time he would enjoy the chocolate. So she just got him flowers.. ]

Do you think chocolate sauce on tofu would taste good?

[ There's dessert tofu after all... He's stopped eating to think deeply about this now. ]

I don't know. You have tofu at your apartment, right? I can make chocolate sauce.

[ They can just get some chocolate on the way home. She's sure he's got milk or cream at home and that's really all you need. ]

You shouldn't expect everything of me. What if I actually don't have tofu in my apartment?

[ Impossible at this point especially since no one but him watches over his diet, but still... ]

[ She is about 99.9% sure he does unless he hasn't gone to the store yet this week. So she's going to look smug when he says yes. ]

[ She lets out a little victorious "heh~" and straightens up ]

There's not a lot left, though. We may have to go to the grocery if we want to experiment.

[ That's what he thinks they're going to do, anyway. ]

I was saving the tofu I have for this honey garlic sauce I found...

We have to go to the store for chocolate to melt anyway, we can pick some up.

[ Store trip! She's excited, they haven't done one of those in a while. ]

[ He goes to check the time. It's not even 7am yet. ]

The grocery opens at 9. What do you suggest we do while we wait?

What do you normally do this early?

[ Like she knows. She sleeps this early. Nothing is open. ]

I prepare the cafe. I took a leave today, though.

[ He is the manager, after all. He's normally the first one there and the last one to leave. ]
