[ Midorima had been hanging around very specific group of people lately and had, admittedly.. somewhat been avoiding his basketball buddies. Not Akashi explicitly, but as a group they can be somewhat overwhelming and Midorima isn't aching to go back into the role of group dad, even if that isn't what he would refer to it as. So the last month or so, he's been leaning more into the relationships he's started forming here in Prismatica.
Except somehow he managed to end up friends with a bunch of people who get really busy really easily, and with his workplace proximity associate (read: friend) Weiss being busy with her show running longer because of its success, Midorima's finding himself wanting intelligent company that he doesn't particularly have to worry about anything romantic or sexual with. The first person he thought of and decided he could use the company of.. well, he was standing at his door now. It'd been a while since they've just been able to spend time together. Despite that he acts like he doesn't, he misses his old friend.
And so, he knocks on his door, bushel of mint in his left hand (his lucky item) and two cans of udon in his other. ]
[ By now, Midorima won't have to worry about horse smell in Akashi's apartment. He's renting a small area closeby and that's where Yukimaru is. When the door opens, what greets Midorima is the scent of vegetables and tofu and miso. He's cooking! His soup! It is the best!! ]
Midorima.
[ Hello! This is a pleasant surprise, and Akashi's smiling up at him. He doesn't even ask what he's here for, but makes way for him to enter. ]
Though honestly he's getting concerned about other things as a smell does flood his nose. ]
What are you making?
[ How much tofu are you eating, Akashi, you can't eat it with every meal it's legit not like. good for you. moderation my man. He does come in though and holds out his cans of udon. ]
I accidentally bought the wrong flavor, so I'm giving this second one to you.
[ He's plenty grateful!! He takes the udon and places it on the kitchen table before he switches the stove off. The soup should be good enough to eat now. ]
It's tofu soup. Would you like some?
[ He plans on making lots so he has enough for the week. 'u' Tofu soup everyday. ]
[ Akashi, you need to vary your diet, it's very important!! If Midorima cant have red beans every day, you can't have tofu every day!! He's worried Akashi is doing what all kids who have never had freedom before do and just eat their favorite food every day until they get sick.... ]
You've already made the tofu soup, save the udon for later. You only need to warm it up in a pot.
[ You just heat the water with the cans inside of it, corner popped so you don't explode it with heat pressure. Midorima can't cook, but he can heat premade things up!! ]
Mm. Demichroma isn't worth much compared to chroma, so if you can obtain a steady supply of chroma is unnecessary to work. I don't like not having anything to do, though.
[ He can't actually play basketball all day every day, after all. That's why he still does props for the theater. ]
I work part-time at the theater, I play basketball. I give Tenshouin sports massages for his health and additional chroma generation. There's a swap meet on Sundays, and I went camping last month with Aoba, Tenshouin, and Hasumi. I have a piano and I spend time with Schnee and Aoba over lucky items. Most of them are very busy now.
[ Because you have no one else to go to since all your other friends are busy? Akashi asks with that underlying notion, but he won't think ill of Midorima if that's exactly the reason why. It's... not like he's done much to reach out to Midorima lately, to begin with.
When I considered what I wanted to do when my schedule was cleared, I considered things I wanted to do that I've been neglecting.
[ And that... Includes his old friends, honestly. It's been easier to keep away and focus on new things than deal with where the hell Kuroko went and Kise being a Sanguis and Akashi still making him feel like he's always second. But he does miss him, even so. ]
[ He says it as if he's admitting to some kind of crime, just playing with Akashi. But it's fun with him, no one else is as much of a challenge? Akashi makes him want to try harder, be better, get stronger in every sense. He can't complain even if he loses, as long as he's done his best and learned something to become a little better. ]
I'm glad you've had a chance to relax. [ He suspects it's a new sensation for Akashi. ]
[ Akashi admitting he's stressed.. he won't deny him the compliment. It's an improvement. ]
What's happened?
[ If he wants to tell him anyway. He'll drop it if Akashi tells him to nevermind. But he is trying to be better about taking an interest in others. He'd started doing it back in Shutoku, and it would be bad to stop trying now that people from his world are around. No falling back into old habits. ]
[ His cheery expression falters and it looks like he's contemplating whether or not he should tell Midorima the details.
He probably should. Not the one about Emerald, since he thinks only Mayuzumi should be privy to the details, but the other thing. ]
I'm... [ He starts off slow, totally unsure if he should even say anything. Akashi is trying, though. He's doing his best. He wants to continue doing his best. ] having difficulty accepting my moonblessing.
[ Midorima stays quiet for a brief moment. He's smart enough to figure out that that means that Akashi likely did not end up Sanguis as he had so boldly declared. ]
What is your moonblessing like?
[ It's best to just ask. He finds it's a unique experience for everyone, and commenting on anything Akashi might be experiencing before knowing what that even is would be folly. He'll simply listen for now. ]

He'll serve two bowls of tofu soup on the table, one for him and one for Midorima should he want any. ]
Was there anything you wanted to talk about?

Not particularly. I thought we could play shogi.
[ There is something, but he's not going to admit it until later.. ]

I'm glad you came. I don't have any plans today.
