[ Akashi not having a schedule and not being able to hang out with them in middle school was probably traumatic. ]

A little. I suppose I could look for a job, but... I'd like to enjoy some time to myself for a while longer.

Mm. Demichroma isn't worth much compared to chroma, so if you can obtain a steady supply of chroma is unnecessary to work. I don't like not having anything to do, though.

[ He can't actually play basketball all day every day, after all. That's why he still does props for the theater. ]

[ He certainly can't imagine Midorima constantly playing basketball. Besides, the boy needs other activities, too. ]

I work part-time at the theater, I play basketball. I give Tenshouin sports massages for his health and additional chroma generation. There's a swap meet on Sundays, and I went camping last month with Aoba, Tenshouin, and Hasumi. I have a piano and I spend time with Schnee and Aoba over lucky items. Most of them are very busy now.

[ He's lonely, shh. ]

[ Because you have no one else to go to since all your other friends are busy? Akashi asks with that underlying notion, but he won't think ill of Midorima if that's exactly the reason why. It's... not like he's done much to reach out to Midorima lately, to begin with.

When I considered what I wanted to do when my schedule was cleared, I considered things I wanted to do that I've been neglecting.

[ And that... Includes his old friends, honestly. It's been easier to keep away and focus on new things than deal with where the hell Kuroko went and Kise being a Sanguis and Akashi still making him feel like he's always second. But he does miss him, even so. ]

Shogi being one such thing.

Don't get me wrong - I'm glad you're busy, and that you have a lot of good people surrounding you.

[ He doesn't think Midorima would hang out with the bad crowd, so... Good people. ]

You're the only one I play shogi with, though. I'm glad you're here now.

[ He says it as if he's admitting to some kind of crime, just playing with Akashi. But it's fun with him, no one else is as much of a challenge? Akashi makes him want to try harder, be better, get stronger in every sense. He can't complain even if he loses, as long as he's done his best and learned something to become a little better. ]

I'm glad you've had a chance to relax. [ He suspects it's a new sensation for Akashi. ]

Things have been rather stressful lately, but I'd like to think that everything is getting better.

[ He and Emerald are friends again and his moonblessings aren't active!! So... good things.

For now, it's soup time, though. ]

[ Akashi admitting he's stressed.. he won't deny him the compliment. It's an improvement. ]

[ If he wants to tell him anyway. He'll drop it if Akashi tells him to nevermind. But he is trying to be better about taking an interest in others. He'd started doing it back in Shutoku, and it would be bad to stop trying now that people from his world are around. No falling back into old habits. ]

[ His cheery expression falters and it looks like he's contemplating whether or not he should tell Midorima the details.

He probably should. Not the one about Emerald, since he thinks only Mayuzumi should be privy to the details, but the other thing. ]

I'm... [ He starts off slow, totally unsure if he should even say anything. Akashi is trying, though. He's doing his best. He wants to continue doing his best. ] having difficulty accepting my moonblessing.

[ Midorima stays quiet for a brief moment. He's smart enough to figure out that that means that Akashi likely did not end up Sanguis as he had so boldly declared. ]

What is your moonblessing like?

[ It's best to just ask. He finds it's a unique experience for everyone, and commenting on anything Akashi might be experiencing before knowing what that even is would be folly. He'll simply listen for now. ]

It's Iris.

[ Akashi at least begins with that. Midorima's been here longer; he knows what traits go with the Iris moonblessing. ]

It's... [ He closes his eyes and sighs. This isn't easy to talk about, even when there's tofu soup in front of him. ] constantly hot.

[ Ah.. yeah. He can definitely understand why Akashi would be wary about that. ]

Yes, I've.. experienced Iris's heat with both Tenshouin and Aoba. We should avoid each other during triple moons for your safety. I'll come over if you need me, but you should be aware that Cordis and Iris are a particularly dangerous combination during the triple moon cycle, sometimes blinding to the senses for Iris. Be prepared and aware of who you have over during that time.

[ He isn't going to shame or question why he's Iris. This world has a strange sense of humor. Besides, he's literally only.. been with Iris-blessed. That's a dangerous situation. ]

I'm sorry you didn't get the blessing you wanted.

[ It's a but of a relief that Midorima kind of... takes it in stride. It's why he felt like he could tell Midorima in the first place. Mayuzumi and Emerald teased him too, and that was also kind of annoying. He's glad Midorima isn't giving him the same treatment now. ]

If I need you... [ Akashi does let out a chuckle at that though. As if coming over is that easy, Midorima?? Are you volunteering? ] I'm not sure what Mayuzumi-san and Emerald's thoughts might be regarding that, but I'll discuss it with them.

[ He finishes his soup (did he just take about three sips and it's gone???) before canting his head to the side, looking at Midorima with a rather fond expression. ]

Kise is Sanguis, but surprisingly tame. I don't know if it was because he was with me or if it was because the effects weren't as powerful.

It-- [ If anything, Midorima is the one feeling teased now. He knows that Akashi doesn't really know how to do that though so it's probably not intentional. He bristles, but doesn't start yelling at least. It's Akashi, after all. ] You know that's not what I meant. I'm not against it if need be, but I'll leave that to your partners.

[ It would take some getting used to. Anything with anyone from his normal life would, he thinks. They have established relationships, it would mean breaking and redefining those. Midorima isn't the type of person who can do anything without some level of seriousness, so it would be something done with caution. ]

I took Kise for a walk and gave him a treat and he was fine.

[ HE JUST TREATS KISE LIKE A DOG DURING SANGUIS BUT KISE LIKES IT SO IT'S FINE RIGHT............... ]

[ Huff huff!! He's starting to think Akashi wants to considering how intent he is on ignoring Midorima's objections though.. Definitely dangerous. What is it with the Iris-blessed in his life. ]
