[ She doesn't want to commit to something she thought up on the fly when she knows she can do much better if she has time and something to look forward to.

Emerald finally let's go of his hand, even though she doesn't want to. But she has to do this before she can have more. ]

I'd like that.

[ Akashi wants to chase after her hand when she lets go, but he doesn't. Emerald can do what she wants. Akashi will wait.

Though as she collects flowers for their spot, she may realise that there's a warm gust of wind around them. ]

[ Emerald has had the experience of needing to be patient and earn praise when she wants it. If romance makes Akashi happy, then you bet she's going to put work into whatever she's decided will be the best way to make him happy, which in turn makes her happy. She can hold off on the handholding because it will be that much better when it's done properly- they can have privacy, enjoy the flowers, and enjoy each other. If she's patient and he's pleased, he won't just hold her hand, he'll hold her waist.

She definitely notices the wind though and glances over at him just as she pulls some birds of paradise. ]

If you warm me up too much, I can't get away with shivering and pretending to be cold so you'll hold onto me when we find our spot.

[ Ah... How does that come out of Akashi's mouth so easily...?

Anyway, he helps her set up. The wind slowly gathers more flowers of all sorts from the general vicinity until there's a small wreath of flowers where they can lay down and just chill. ]

Put what you have in the centre. It's nice, don't you think?

[unhappy]

[ She supposes she doesn't mind that he's helping even if it's her idea. She hadn't really thought to ask him since he had his hands full carrying things while she gathered flowers. ]

If we're putting nice things in the center, we should shove you there.

[ She's joking. She does as he says, arranging them so they're all about even in a makeshift bouquet. It's not clean, but it doesn't look awful either.]

[ oh my god Emerald you're a dork. ]

Perhaps it should be you who should stay in the middle.

[ :)!!! If she's going to be this way, then he will, too. ]

On what planet am I the "nice" one?

[ She's not getting in the middle you freak. She just sits down on the side and holds her hands out. ]

Give me the coffee.

You're nice to look at, nice to talk to, nice to joke around with, nice to hold, nice to wrap around my arms in, nice to kiss, nice to be with alone... [ Hey, did you know he'll keep going and even say "nice to be in an abandoned building with" if she doesn't stop him. He says it all as he hands the drink to her. ]

I'll shove flowers down your throat if you keep saying weird nonsense.

[ Don't be fucking gross?? she's so embarrassed right now. She takes the drink and sips from it then watches him as he sits down, impatiently. ]

That's not a very nice thing to say.

[ He says it with a chuckle as he sits down, joining her in the centre. Now they have they're in their own flower world! ]

Exactly, a nice person definitely wouldn't say anything like that.

[ Excuse you Akashi you said you would hold her.

But if he doesn't want to he doesn't have to. Emerald is just going to suck down some coffee and look pouty about something. ]

[ Wow!! Let him get comfortable first. ]

Come closer.

You just sat down, why didn't you sit closer?

[ What a dweeb. She's going to move over right next to him despite her complaint. ]

Lean on me.

[ That's why there's space! ]

You can rest your head on my lap too, if you'd like.

[ She looks a little conflicted for a moment. Lean on him or lay on him? He said either is fine. She looks thoughtful for a moment, then turns to lay down next to him after setting the coffee down and rests the back of her head on his thigh. She pulls both of her pigtails to the front to lay over her chest and stares up at him as she flattens her skirt out to make sure that she's not like.. flashing the world. ]

I like this.

I'm glad.

[ Very slowly, Akashi manipulates the sound around them so the noise from their outside world gets muted. He seems to like doing this, intentionally or unintentionally. Right now, he just wants his world to just be him and Emerald. If Mayuzumi finds them, he can be heard, too. ]

Just rest.

[ She laughs. He keeps doing that. She doesn't need the world to quiet to focus completely on him. It's unnerving in some ways because she can't hear danger coming, she can't use her semblance properly because she can't hear what's going on around them. The quiet makes her feel vulnerable, but Akashi makes her feel strong. It's funny to get both of those feelings from the same person. ]

Can you hear anything else when you do that?

[ Is it just her he's affecting like that, is what she means to ask. ]

[glorifies]

[ Akashi's not quite sure where to place his hands, but he decides to place them on the grass. He puts his weight on them for support. ]

I can't. It's just you I'm able to hear.

[unhappy]

That's as romantic as it is nerve-wracking.

[ She lets out a little laugh at that, like she's joking. She loves just being able to hear him, but it's also really hard not to be scared that she's not going to hear something coming. If someone wants to hurt Emerald, they'll go for Akashi or Mayuzumi. ]

[glorifies]

Why is that?

[ He places a hand over Emerald's bangs, brushing the hair a little, before sliding his hand closer to her cheek to draw an invisible line on it with his thumb. ]

Is everything alright?

[unhappy]

If someone or something comes to hurt us, I can't hear them coming. Which would be okay if I could react to you reacting. Or if we weren't out in the open like before.

[ There were four walls, one was behind her. She could see all their exits and entrances, even if she couldn't hear. Now she's looking up at Akashi and the sky with no walls. ]

That doesn't scare you?

[glorifies]

Who would hurt us here?

[ They're in the confines of a city—a dead city, but still a city. There are tons of people, there's security, and as far as he knows, people aren't exactly eager to disturb the peace the two of them have created in their spot. ]

[unhappy]

[ She stays quiet for a moment. Her tone quiets down and her eyes ]

I brought hundreds of monsters down over a festival. Warriors from all four kingdoms present, thousands who weren't. Families. Children.

[ Any grass and flowers around them starts to dew up, the air thickening a little as she says it. It's guilt. ]

People like me. That's who would.

[glorifies]

[ It's a little difficult to find words to make Emerald feel better, admittedly. But Akashi will try to find those words. He's not forgiving Emerald for what she's done, but she needs to be able to find a way to move past what's happened already, after all. He can tell there's guilt in the air (metaphorically), because he does know that Emerald didn't do what she did because it was her idea. ]

Should I make it noisier, then?

[unhappy]

You don't have to.

[ But she doesn't want to hide that from him. he would beat himself up if he thought he was scaring her and she was keeping it a secret to protect him. ]

It's scary, but I also like feeling like we're the only people in the world.
