[ She laughs. He keeps doing that. She doesn't need the world to quiet to focus completely on him. It's unnerving in some ways because she can't hear danger coming, she can't use her semblance properly because she can't hear what's going on around them. The quiet makes her feel vulnerable, but Akashi makes her feel strong. It's funny to get both of those feelings from the same person. ]

Can you hear anything else when you do that?

[ Is it just her he's affecting like that, is what she means to ask. ]

[glorifies]

[ Akashi's not quite sure where to place his hands, but he decides to place them on the grass. He puts his weight on them for support. ]

I can't. It's just you I'm able to hear.

[unhappy]

That's as romantic as it is nerve-wracking.

[ She lets out a little laugh at that, like she's joking. She loves just being able to hear him, but it's also really hard not to be scared that she's not going to hear something coming. If someone wants to hurt Emerald, they'll go for Akashi or Mayuzumi. ]

[glorifies]

Why is that?

[ He places a hand over Emerald's bangs, brushing the hair a little, before sliding his hand closer to her cheek to draw an invisible line on it with his thumb. ]

Is everything alright?

If someone or something comes to hurt us, I can't hear them coming. Which would be okay if I could react to you reacting. Or if we weren't out in the open like before.

[ There were four walls, one was behind her. She could see all their exits and entrances, even if she couldn't hear. Now she's looking up at Akashi and the sky with no walls. ]

That doesn't scare you?

[glorifies]

Who would hurt us here?

[ They're in the confines of a city—a dead city, but still a city. There are tons of people, there's security, and as far as he knows, people aren't exactly eager to disturb the peace the two of them have created in their spot. ]

[unhappy]

[ She stays quiet for a moment. Her tone quiets down and her eyes ]

I brought hundreds of monsters down over a festival. Warriors from all four kingdoms present, thousands who weren't. Families. Children.

[ Any grass and flowers around them starts to dew up, the air thickening a little as she says it. It's guilt. ]

People like me. That's who would.

[glorifies]

[ It's a little difficult to find words to make Emerald feel better, admittedly. But Akashi will try to find those words. He's not forgiving Emerald for what she's done, but she needs to be able to find a way to move past what's happened already, after all. He can tell there's guilt in the air (metaphorically), because he does know that Emerald didn't do what she did because it was her idea. ]

Should I make it noisier, then?

[unhappy]

You don't have to.

[ But she doesn't want to hide that from him. he would beat himself up if he thought he was scaring her and she was keeping it a secret to protect him. ]

It's scary, but I also like feeling like we're the only people in the world.

[glorifies]

No one will hurt us here. That, I can guarantee you.

[ He finds that promising to protect her doesn't seem right because he knows she'll have objections. This is at least what he's able to offer her. ]

[unhappy]

[ Yeah, Emerald's pretty sure she's the one who's going to need to protect him. She trusts him though, which is why she didn't have a real adverse reaction to losing sound. If anyone else had done that to her they'd be silently getting their ass kicked.

Instead, she lets her lips pull into a smirk and reaches her hand up to lightly pinch his stomach. It's mostly skin she gets since he's all muscle but it's harmless. ]

Are you sure?

[ And if he doesn't stop her, she's going to follow up with trying to tickle him. She's never gotten to tickle anyone before, she wants to try it. ]

[glorifies]

Please don't.

[ He gently takes her hand and wraps his own around it. ]

I can be rather sensitive.

[ By which he means he's ticklish. Please don't. :( ]

Well it's not fun to do to someone who isn't.

[ She is definitely wiggling her fingers underneath his, super tiny movements as if she's waiting for him to agree but not quite listening either. ]

[glorifies]

It's not fun for me.

[ Which is probably ruining Emerald's fun at this point, but he really doesn't want to be tickled.

He lets go of Emerald, though. In the end, she's not his property that he can easily boss her around. ]

[ She rolls her eyes and moves her hands away, turning onto her side. She's still got her head on his lap, the back of her head facing him. It's not that she wants to turn her back to him, but facing the other way would've probably been a little awkward.

She can't complain about it really. She wants him to want to be vulnerable with her, even with something stupid like that, but he's opened up to her in different ways that she doesn't think he has with anyone else. She hopes anyway. She stares at the food for a few seconds, narrowing her eyes, then rolling back onto her back to look at him. ]

Feed me mochi then?

[glorifies]

You'll choke. You'll need to sit up.

[ Look how caring he is. He's like a mom. A momfriend. Emerald keeps saying she has two boyfriends but the reality is that he has one mom and... that's it? (Mayuzumi, who?) ]

[unhappy]

I won't choke.

[ She pauses. If he's gonna keep saying no to doing stuff she wants, she's just gonna be mean in a different way. She puts her finger over her lips as if she's thinking, pulling down just slightly on her lower lip so that it parts down slightly before she speaks. ]

In fact, it's for your benefit that you practice putting things in my mouth without me sitting up properly. I mean, if I choke on something as small as a mochi...

[glorifies]

[ Akashi looks at her as if she just said something absurd. Seconds later, he realises what she means, and he places a hand over her eyes so she doesn't have to see how embarrassing that was???? What the fuck, Emerald... ]

Perhaps... you should start eating more bananas.

[ That took a lot of courage to blurt out. ]

[unhappy]

[ She starts giggling when he covers her eyes. She doesn't need to see it to know he's embarrassed when he's flat out blinding her. ]

Are you going to feed them to me or just watch?

[ She's reaching up to try to pull his hand down so she can peek at his face. ]

[glorifies]

[ LET'S NOT TALK ABOUT IT ANYMORE. . . he was hoping to embarrass Emerald so he'd win at the topic but it seems it's not possible.

He takes his hand off her and reaches for the mochi plate. ]

If you choke, don't say I didn't warn you.

[unhappy]

[ Embarrassing Akashi is so much fun. She can't wait to tell Mayuzumi how cute he gets when he is. ]

If I die, it'll be in your arms so I won't have any complaints.

[ She's being dramatic, of course. If something kills her, it's not going to be mochi and Akashi probably is fully trained in first aid and CPR and the Heimlich and the ancient art of Japanese no-chokey no jutsu. So she opens her mouth. ]

Ahhh.

[glorifies]

[ He doesn't give her the full mochi, but rather, stops until half is in her mouth and then just... hovers. ]

Bite.

[ He's not gonna make her choke, so small bites!!!!! ]

[unhappy]

[ She listens to him, biting into the plush little sweet to take the small bite. She got what she wanted finally, she'll listen to however he wants to do it. She even makes sure to chew it extra so that he knows she's for sure chewed it long enough before she swallows, then opens her mouth to show him it's gone. ]

See? Still breathing.

[glorifies]

I'm merely worried about you.

[ You don't have to act all vindicated, Em!! Gosh. Once Emerald's swallowed half of the mochi, he offers the other half. ]

[unhappy]

I know, I'm reassuring you because you worry about me all the time.

[ She says it before she takes the second half into her mouth, leaning to so she can suck the starch off of his fingers too.

..Though not particularly well, she really just got it wet and sticky. Oops. ]
