[ She lets him scoop her up , crossing her legs so they're more compact and easier to handle. She hopes. ]

[ She puts her head on his shoulder, bangs brushing against his neck. ]

[ Emerald just needs to keep saying what she wants. Akashi will give everything she wants to her because she deserves it.

He starts to walk. He doesn't seem so inconvenienced by the weight, more concerned about Emerald's state of being than anything else. ]

[ She lays against him quietly for a little while, but eventually pipes up with. ]

Why do you guys live in a forest? There aren't any apartments near there.

[ She can't stay in her and Merc's apartment. That's for sure. She wants to be near them, but that's not possible either. ]

[glorifies]

We wanted to buy property, not just rent. The ones outside the city are a lot cheaper than the in-city ones.

[ So!! That's why. If he had the same amount of money here as he does in Japan, he'd probably be living in a mansion right about now. ]

We're making do.

What's your home like in Japan?

[ Emerald doesn't really know anything about homes. Even back in Remnant, there's no specific place she can call a home. It makes it very difficult to consider any actual location a home. There are specific people who are her home. The first place she really considered a location she had attachments to was the first apartment that she destroyed when she found out about Cinder. So it's gone now, and with Mercury gone from her current apartment and it having only been a few months there, it feels more like a transient place to stay.

The idea of a home is a concept Emerald wants more than anything and has a lot of trouble finding. She wants Akashi and Mayuzumi and Kuroko to be her home, but she knows that there's one roommate that won't agree with it. They probably wouldn't forgive her if he suddenly disappeared to make room for her. ]

We have a lot of homes scattered throughout Japan. A house in Tokyo, where I grew up in, and one in Kyoto where I see my father regularly while I'm studying there, and some resthouses in other regions.

They tend to be large and there's always a garden. The one in Tokyo has a basketball court. My mother encouraged my father to purchase one of those portable hoops so that I could play in the yard.

[ She can't help but let out a little laugh toward the end of his answer. ]

What do you need so many homes for?

[ She'll settle for like. 1. 1 is a nice goal. ]

[glorifies]

Real property is good investment.

[ When the Akashis grow butt poor, they can sell their land. ]

[unhappy]

Do you have a home or just properties?

[ Maybe it sounds like a weird question. Emerald thinks it does after she says it, so a second later she clarifies: ]

I've had a lot of places I've stayed, but they aren't homes.

[glorifies]

Technically speaking, we have homes and properties.

[ But he thinks he gets what she's trying to say... He's not sure, though. . . ]

I suppose I did have a home before, when my mother was still alive. Now, everything feels cold when I'm visiting.

[unhappy]

[ She nods slowly. She falls quiet for a moment, then just before he's about to say something else she'll pipe up to interrupt because she wants to get out what she's thinking, even if she hesitated. ]

If we figure out how to get me to Japan, can we make a home?

[ She knows it's fantasizing right now, and getting way ahead of herself. But he loves her, so maybe it isn't? She just wants to talk about it to feel better right now. ]

[glorifies]

It will be a home no matter where we go.

[ Even if they end up in a completely different world, it will still be home because Emerald is with him. That's very important, and he hopes she understands what he means. He'll be with her no matter where they end up being. ]

[unhappy]

That's the same thing I was thinking.

[ She understands. She was hoping to get an that anyway. It makes her feel better to say it without her saying it first.. which might not be the most healthy way to think about it but for her, she wants it to be that he thinks these things because he means them, not because he wants her to be happy. Both are good things, but right now it feels more comforting that he said it. ]

Are your arms tired?

[glorifies]

I'm alright.

[ He's practised his shots many times before. His arms aren't tired just yet. ]

You're not as heavy as you seem.

[ Wait, that's not what he meant to say fsdaklghd BUT HE SAYS IT ANYWAY and isn't even aware of how she might take it... ]

[unhappy]

I'm glad I seem heavier than I am.

[ She keeps one arm around him, but taps her stomach with her other hand. Emerald has 99 issues but feeling fat ain't one. She's more concerned with not looking like a skeleton. ]

You can't even see my ribs, just abs.

[ They're not super cut it anything but she's fit-muscular rather than skinny!! ]

[glorifies]

It's just as I said, I've never lifted anybody before.

[ He has no idea how Emerald weighs, but she's definitely the heaviest he's ever carried in his entire life. ]

I like how you look.

[unhappy]

You should start exercising with me. I'll sit on your back while you do push ups.

[ she gives him a lopsided smile. ]

I know you do.

[glorifies]

How is that exercising with you? I'm the only one doing the exercising.

[unhappy]

I'll exercise my imagination while I watch you get sweaty.

[ She is the only person who can actually claim that's exercise considering her semblance. She's not unaware of what it sounds like though. ]

[glorifies]

That exactly will you be imagining?

[ He's trying to be serious and Emerald is being dirty... :( ]

Stuff. I don't know.

[ She likes teasing him. But she does answer seriously. ]

If you let me, I can practice on you. It's not like I have anyone to practice on so I can't really expand my abilities. If I can figure out how to do two people at once without giving myself a migraine that would be great. It's probably like any muscle, right?

[glorifies]

I don't want you to have a headache.

[ As much as he'd want her to improve because it's probably good for her? No... He'd rather just have her the way she is now. ]

[unhappy]

If I can practice maybe I won't get headaches anymore. Then if bad stuff happens I can handle just hiding us so we can walk out of a room without a fight or risking me passing out of there's too many people.

[ If she can gain any kind of mastery over her abilities she could actually protect him without anyone getting hurt unless she wants to hurt them. It's something she can't do now. ]

You're rich in your world. I can be your bodyguard if I can do that.

[glorifies]

You make a good point. [ He doesn't want Emerald to fight anybody anymore, so he's onboard with this plan. ] Although will you still be on my back when you practice?

[ He is a little lost on that part... Anyway-- ]

I'm not hiring you to be my bodyguard.

[unhappy]

Yes. I'm your extra weight to build muscles.

[ she lets get head relax again, sighing as she practically slumps against his shoulder. ]

I'm not going to hurt anyone if I do.
