Technically speaking, we have homes and properties.

[ But he thinks he gets what she's trying to say... He's not sure, though. . . ]

I suppose I did have a home before, when my mother was still alive. Now, everything feels cold when I'm visiting.

[ She nods slowly. She falls quiet for a moment, then just before he's about to say something else she'll pipe up to interrupt because she wants to get out what she's thinking, even if she hesitated. ]

If we figure out how to get me to Japan, can we make a home?

[ She knows it's fantasizing right now, and getting way ahead of herself. But he loves her, so maybe it isn't? She just wants to talk about it to feel better right now. ]

It will be a home no matter where we go.

[ Even if they end up in a completely different world, it will still be home because Emerald is with him. That's very important, and he hopes she understands what he means. He'll be with her no matter where they end up being. ]

That's the same thing I was thinking.

[ She understands. She was hoping to get an that anyway. It makes her feel better to say it without her saying it first.. which might not be the most healthy way to think about it but for her, she wants it to be that he thinks these things because he means them, not because he wants her to be happy. Both are good things, but right now it feels more comforting that he said it. ]

Are your arms tired?

[ He's practised his shots many times before. His arms aren't tired just yet. ]

You're not as heavy as you seem.

[ Wait, that's not what he meant to say fsdaklghd BUT HE SAYS IT ANYWAY and isn't even aware of how she might take it... ]

I'm glad I seem heavier than I am.

[ She keeps one arm around him, but taps her stomach with her other hand. Emerald has 99 issues but feeling fat ain't one. She's more concerned with not looking like a skeleton. ]

You can't even see my ribs, just abs.

[ They're not super cut it anything but she's fit-muscular rather than skinny!! ]

It's just as I said, I've never lifted anybody before.

[ He has no idea how Emerald weighs, but she's definitely the heaviest he's ever carried in his entire life. ]

You should start exercising with me. I'll sit on your back while you do push ups.

[ she gives him a lopsided smile. ]

How is that exercising with you? I'm the only one doing the exercising.

I'll exercise my imagination while I watch you get sweaty.

[ She is the only person who can actually claim that's exercise considering her semblance. She's not unaware of what it sounds like though. ]

That exactly will you be imagining?

[ He's trying to be serious and Emerald is being dirty... :( ]

Stuff. I don't know.

[ She likes teasing him. But she does answer seriously. ]

If you let me, I can practice on you. It's not like I have anyone to practice on so I can't really expand my abilities. If I can figure out how to do two people at once without giving myself a migraine that would be great. It's probably like any muscle, right?

I don't want you to have a headache.

[ As much as he'd want her to improve because it's probably good for her? No... He'd rather just have her the way she is now. ]

If I can practice maybe I won't get headaches anymore. Then if bad stuff happens I can handle just hiding us so we can walk out of a room without a fight or risking me passing out of there's too many people.

[ If she can gain any kind of mastery over her abilities she could actually protect him without anyone getting hurt unless she wants to hurt them. It's something she can't do now. ]

You're rich in your world. I can be your bodyguard if I can do that.

You make a good point. [ He doesn't want Emerald to fight anybody anymore, so he's onboard with this plan. ] Although will you still be on my back when you practice?

[ He is a little lost on that part... Anyway-- ]

I'm not hiring you to be my bodyguard.

Yes. I'm your extra weight to build muscles.

[ she lets get head relax again, sighing as she practically slumps against his shoulder. ]

I'm not going to hurt anyone if I do.

It's not that. I don't want to date my bodyguard.

[ Date, marry, have kids with, et cetera... ]

It would be unprofessional.

What jobs would be professional for me to have that don't require an education?

[ She's not giving him sass. It's a real question that she's going to have to deal with. Mercury may not still be here, but he made a lot of good points about things she was going to have to figure out and face. Her lack of formal education and non-criminal or survival skills being one of them. Adding in Akashi's professionalism requirements and probably expectations from his father and society... Emerald isn't enough. ]

I'll have you know there are many successful businessmen and women who don't have an MBA, let alone finished studying in school.

[ It's not a direct answer, but he wants to assure her that she'll have a place, regardless of her background. ]

We can start a small business together.

[ He hums a little as he thinks. Time is a little weird here and it just so happens to be their enemy at this moment. He heaves her upwards just a little because his arms are getting a little tired. Just a little! It's nothing bad. ]

What makes you think I know anything about running a business?

[ Even so, if he thinks she should, she genuinely is kinda of curious. ]

If you're willing, you could learn here. Use the time here to study and learn more about how other businesses work and prepare yourself for when we go to Japan. It may take time, and it does take a lot of patience.

[ As for the type of business... he isn't sure either. Seeing Emerald behind a counter of a quaint cafe seems fun, or perhaps she could be a florist... but these are little shops that he'd like to have for himself. Something where he can interact with people without the whole idea of him being an Akashi. ]

What would you like to have?

Hm...

[ She hums as she tries to think of something she might be able to handle. Her ideas are a lot less cute. Sorry Akashi. ]

A security company. I can do a security consultation in which I break into people's houses to prove how easy it is, then you can sell like.. locks and alarms and plans and stuff?

[glorifies]

I don't think a business like that would last long...

[ It would get a ton of complaints. ]

[unhappy]

It would be with permission! I wouldn't just be breaking into random people's houses. "Have an ex-con security expert test your home for weaknesses, then get a home security makeover courtesy of the Akashi.. Corp... Inc?"

[ She thought it was a good idea... :( ]

We'll talk about it when it happens, I suppose.

[ It really does seem like Emerald thinks it's a good idea, but she got mad at him when she thought he liked what he wants her to be, not who she is. He's not trying to change who she is, but if she's going to live in Japan or anywhere else and have a healthy and normal life, she's going to have to think healthily and normally.

In any case, they're near the basketboys' house. There's just one problem... a hill. ]
