[ She is the only person who can actually claim that's exercise considering her semblance. She's not unaware of what it sounds like though. ]

[ She likes teasing him. But she does answer seriously. ]

If you let me, I can practice on you. It's not like I have anyone to practice on so I can't really expand my abilities. If I can figure out how to do two people at once without giving myself a migraine that would be great. It's probably like any muscle, right?

[ As much as he'd want her to improve because it's probably good for her? No... He'd rather just have her the way she is now. ]

If I can practice maybe I won't get headaches anymore. Then if bad stuff happens I can handle just hiding us so we can walk out of a room without a fight or risking me passing out of there's too many people.

[ If she can gain any kind of mastery over her abilities she could actually protect him without anyone getting hurt unless she wants to hurt them. It's something she can't do now. ]

You make a good point. [ He doesn't want Emerald to fight anybody anymore, so he's onboard with this plan. ] Although will you still be on my back when you practice?

[ He is a little lost on that part... Anyway-- ]

[ she lets get head relax again, sighing as she practically slumps against his shoulder. ]

[ Date, marry, have kids with, et cetera... ]

What jobs would be professional for me to have that don't require an education?

[ She's not giving him sass. It's a real question that she's going to have to deal with. Mercury may not still be here, but he made a lot of good points about things she was going to have to figure out and face. Her lack of formal education and non-criminal or survival skills being one of them. Adding in Akashi's professionalism requirements and probably expectations from his father and society... Emerald isn't enough. ]

I'll have you know there are many successful businessmen and women who don't have an MBA, let alone finished studying in school.

[ It's not a direct answer, but he wants to assure her that she'll have a place, regardless of her background. ]

We can start a small business together.

[ He hums a little as he thinks. Time is a little weird here and it just so happens to be their enemy at this moment. He heaves her upwards just a little because his arms are getting a little tired. Just a little! It's nothing bad. ]

What makes you think I know anything about running a business?

[ Even so, if he thinks she should, she genuinely is kinda of curious. ]

If you're willing, you could learn here. Use the time here to study and learn more about how other businesses work and prepare yourself for when we go to Japan. It may take time, and it does take a lot of patience.

[ As for the type of business... he isn't sure either. Seeing Emerald behind a counter of a quaint cafe seems fun, or perhaps she could be a florist... but these are little shops that he'd like to have for himself. Something where he can interact with people without the whole idea of him being an Akashi. ]

What would you like to have?

[ She hums as she tries to think of something she might be able to handle. Her ideas are a lot less cute. Sorry Akashi. ]

A security company. I can do a security consultation in which I break into people's houses to prove how easy it is, then you can sell like.. locks and alarms and plans and stuff?

I don't think a business like that would last long...

[ It would get a ton of complaints. ]

It would be with permission! I wouldn't just be breaking into random people's houses. "Have an ex-con security expert test your home for weaknesses, then get a home security makeover courtesy of the Akashi.. Corp... Inc?"

[ She thought it was a good idea... :( ]

We'll talk about it when it happens, I suppose.

[ It really does seem like Emerald thinks it's a good idea, but she got mad at him when she thought he liked what he wants her to be, not who she is. He's not trying to change who she is, but if she's going to live in Japan or anywhere else and have a healthy and normal life, she's going to have to think healthily and normally.

In any case, they're near the basketboys' house. There's just one problem... a hill. ]

[ She's trying. It's not like she thinks she's totally off base-- because for her, Remnant is the kind of place that people would benefit from improving and testing security. They have so many safety issues, it's so easy for criminals to know just where to go, it seems like a good idea to her.

Akashi brushing the idea off is telling her something is wrong, but she doesn't really understand why. Maybe she was right- she needs to learn something new, not rely on what she can do. ]

[ She nods and moves her hands to his shoulders so she can steady her hop down once he sets her down. ]

I'm really good at observing people and taking notes. Is there a business I can help with that?

Those are qualities any person should possess, no matter the setting. Why don't we focus on what you'd like to do now, and see what happens afterwards?

[ He sets her down carefully and then gets down on one knee in front of her so he can help her put her shoes on. ]

What I'd like to do now doesn't really matter in the long run.

[ She holds her foot up, setting her shoes down next to Akashi so he can put them back on her.

She just has to pick something that isn't going to embarrass him, right? ]

[ He's a little slow in putting one shoe after the other because of the ribbons. One day, he'll get this... but considering this is his first time, he's setting a good record for himself! ]

Other people would look at you and want you.

[ That would be a problem too??? ]

[ She waits patiently, carefully balanced until he's ready for her to switch. He doesn't have to tell her, she's paying attention. ]

Alligator sitter. Yoga instructor. Trophy wife. Dessert taste-tester.

[ Those all actually sound okay to her but she doubt any of them are respectable enough. ]

A yoga instructor? That might be enjoyable. If you want to do more related to that field, you may even become a gym instructor. You could even tell people what their diet should be for the upcoming months.

[ Dessert taste-tester also sounds fun but he feels like Emerald would get tired of it quickly enough...

Once he's done putting her shoes on on both feet, he pushes himself up and stretches his arms. When that's done, he takes her hand in his so they can start walking. ]

I don't have a degree in gym or basic knowledge of your world's sports, so yoga instructor might be the limit. That's really good enough?

[ She might have to take up yoga here if it is.. at least enough to b.s. teaching it. ]

It may be beneficial to know how a human body works.

[ Which he's sure she can learn here, if she really wanted to. ]

It should rake in a decent amount of money, too. The job itself pays well, from what I know.

I'll try that out here then. Is that.. it's not something you're going to be looked down on for dating, right?

[ She's definitely conscious of that. Though if it is ok then she's willing to try it. Something physical is at least something she knows she can handle, even if she needs to learn the technical parts still. ]
