[ Emerald doesn't know what it's like to have a mom, but she imagines it's kind of like this. Except she's got some serious Oedipal shit going on at that point if that's true, bc she does enjoy watching him walk away if you know what I mean. ]

[ She calls after him. They don't have oyster crackers, but he said he had bread so maybe he can make her some croutons. After he's gone though, she just settles in and stares at the ceiling. Then eventually rolls over to her side to lay on her stomach again, oops. ]
[ It's... actually pretty good that Em is fine with being left alone for a bit. Akashi doesn't find her tiring to be with, but being separated for a little while would be good for them. Emerald isn't particularly clingy. That's... that's healthy, really. He keeps the door open, at least, so he doesn't have to open it again to serve the soup.
Akashi takes a little while to make the best tomato soup ever. There's some Dunamis infused in the soup to make her feel warm and loved, because that's how Akashi feels when he's with her. He doesn't want her to feel alone or inadequate or anything else ever again.
There are croutons, too... and cream cheese, should she want to add some to her soup.
He comes back to his room with a tray, a large bowl of soup at the centre. The bottle of cream cheese spread is next to it, as well as a glass of water. There's also two slices of toasted butter bread in case the croutons on the bowl aren't enough. ]
I normally don't eat in my room, but I'll make today an exception.
[ For her part, Emerald spent many years alone. She's good at spending time alone and handles it well. She doesn't have separation anxiety unless there's a real risk of separation. If anything, if she was cooped up with someone 24/7 she might get a little antsy.
Instead, she actually seems fine just doing something totally normal like smelling his pillow and rolling around under the covers to systematically pull the sheet up so it's completely around her. When he gets in, he's probably going to be annoyed that she's hogging the sheet, but the outer blankets are fine. ]
I can eat at the table if you want me to. I'm not sick, just sad.
[ She is taking this sheet with her if they go to the table though. It's burrito'd around her even as she scoots to sit up on the bed. ]
She manages to get out of the bed and stand up with the sheet wrapped around her. Impressively, the top blanket is somehow still properly on the bed, if somewhat rumpled.
Her strides are about three inches as she heads toward the door...... ]
[ Akashi doesn't say anything, but just takes the spoon with a smile. It would be best if the soup didn't spill onto the blanket, but if it did, then he can wash it away with Dunamis easily.
He scoops a spoonful of the tomato soup for Emerald and places it close to her mouth with his free hand ready to catch any drippings. ]
[ Akashi's not the most excellent at cooking despite being great at everything else. He can at least follow a cookbook, unlike a certain green haired shooting guard, so he's pretty confident that what he made is edible. Whether Emerald likes it or not is a different story, though. ]
[ he could be a crap chef and she wouldn't really care, she'd still eat it. But she does like it. Maybe it's because it was made with loooove. Or bc tomato soup isn't super hard as long as you don't oversalt it so even Akashi's medium cooking is good with it. ]
That's good. I would hate for it to not taste good when you requested for it.
[ Akashi doesn't like being left behind. He may not have been friends with Mercury, nor did he like him, but it sucks being left behind. Maybe he's taking this a little too seriously, or maybe he feels like Emerald's way too hurt and sad that he has to pamper her like crazy. ]

[ She doesn't really know if he realizes that. Like.. he's constantly "on" with everyone else, so maybe he should know. ]
I want you here whether you can make good soup or not. [ He's not used to not being perfect at everything.. and she teases him a lot, but when it's something that he's not actually perfect at, she has no intention of making him feel bad about it. ] You let me come home with you when I needed you. That's all I needed.
[ What a strange thing to say. Akashi looks at her as if she just said something he's unable to believe. It's not that he doesn't believe her, but it's not something anybody has ever told him before. Not even Miu told him something like this, and he's not quite sure how to process it.
It's why he stays silent for a while. His hand remains on the spoon, set next to the bowl, and if Emerald wanted another bite, she sure isn't getting it any time soon. Then, when he thinks he's thought of a response, he says: ]
I made it for you. If it's for you, then it has to be good. I won't accept anything less.
[ Akashi takes a moment before nodding. He believes her. If she says it's good, then he's happy because she likes it. That's the most important thing. ]
[ He looks a little embarrassed now. He's shown some confusion and the spoon he's holding has gone too cold. Not frozen or anything, but it's as if the spoon was left in the freezer for some time.
He gets up to grab another spoon from the kitchen, then sits back next to her and places the spoon on her right side. ]
